Sonia becomes third Spaniard to join Flash
[NWSL TRANSACTIONS] Sonia became the third Spaniard to join Western New York, joining Vicky Losada, Week 1's NWSL Player of the Week, and Adriana Martin on the Flash. She comes to the Flash fresh off a two-goal performance on Sunday
when she helped Barcelona defeat Atletico Feminas, 3-0, to claim the club’s third straight Primera Division title.

The Barca title was the sixth consecutive league title Sonia was a part of, as the Vallecas native also won three titles
with Rayo Vallecano.
“We’re excited to have Sonia as a part of our squad and delighted that we were able to, again, work with FC Barcelona to bring another fantastic player to
Western New York,” Flash general manager and head coach Aaran Lines said. “Sonia is another tremendous addition with enormous individual quality
that we look forward to integrating into our team concept in 2014.”
Vicky, who also arrived at the Flash from Barcelona, Adriana and Sonia all played for Spain at Euro 2013 along
with the fourth Spaniard in the NWSL, Portland-bound Veronica Boquete. Vicky, Sonia and Boquete all played for Spain in its recent 2015 Women's World Cup
qualifiers. Spain leads its group with six wins and a draw.
