[NWSL: Week 5] Amy Rodriguez scored two more goals to give her a league-leading six in six games for FC Kansas City as it beat the Washington Spirit, 2-1, on Sunday. This is the first NWSL season for A-Rod after sitting out the 2013 campaign following the birth of her son.

-- Western New York joined FC Kansas City in second place with a 2-0 win over Sky Blue FC on a pair of goals by Abby Wambach, her first of the season.

-- After a three-hour severe weather delay, the Chicago Red Stars beat the Houston Dash, 1-0, on Jennifer Hoy's goal in the first half before a crowd of 1,039.

SATURDAY. The Seattle Reign FC has opened up a eight-point lead. A 1-0 win at second-place Portland on Scottish international Kim Little's goal in the 89th minute was Seattle's sixth victory in six goals, one more than it had the entire 2013 season. The match appeared to be headed toward a scoreless draw when Little snatched an errant back pass from Rebecca Moros and scored her fifth goal of the season
