Aston Villa’s American owner Randy Lerner has confirmed that he’s put the Birmingham club up for sale. Lerner bought Villa from Doug Ellis in 2006, butthere has been uncertainty over his future after Villa finished a disappointing 15th this season following Sunday’s 3-0 loss at Tottenham Hotspur. In a statement published on the club’s website,Lerner said: “I owe it to Villa to move on, and look for fresh, invigorated leadership, if in my heart I feel I can no longer do the job.”
