Ribery Criticizes Guardiola's Rotation Policy

In an interview with German magazine Kicker, Bayern Munich winger Franck Ribery openly criticizes coach Pep Guardiola’s rotation policy. "Sometimes you play, sometimes you sit on the bench, sometimes you stay at home altogether. That was a new situation for everyone. Personally I need games. I might need a break after five, six games, but not after one."

After finishing third in the voting for the 2013 Ballon d’Or, Ribery, who has struggled with injuries, made just 22 appearances in 34 Bundesliga games this season, nine of which involved substitutions.

Ribery’s comments earned a swift rebuke from Bayern sporting director Matthias Sammer. "It's not the time, before a cup final, to speak of personal things," he said. Sammer of course is referring to the German Cup final between Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund on Saturday.
