[USA MEN] LA Galaxy II was formed to provide playing time for young players and reserves of MLS's LA Galaxy, the first team to launch a second team in the USL PRO. Galaxy II players also got a chance on Tuesday to be sparring partners for the U.S. national team training at Stanford University.

The closed-door session for which no information was provided was the second test for the U.S. national team since arriving in Stanford a week ago. It scrimmaged Stanford on Saturday.

The U.S. national team will train at Stanford through the weekend. The first of three international friendlies will take place next Tuesday against Azerbaijan at San Francisco's Candlestick Park.

MUSICAL AND ART DIRECTORS APPOINTED. There will be more to the U.S. national team staff that the usual cast of coaches, trainers and p.r. personnel. U.S. Soccer has appointed Grammy Award-winning hip-hop artist Lupe Fiasco as the music director and artist Futura art director for the World Cup campaign.

Fiasco will be creating Spotify playlists, in collaboration with his DJ group the SNDCLSH and handle in-game music programming during the three-game Send-Off Series. He will also hold a music set in Chicago at the U.S. Soccer Fan Fest prior to the USA's match against Ghana on June 16.

Futura, known for his pioneering role in the birth of graffiti-style artwork and designs, will contribute the official World Cup team poster, limited-edition skate deck designs and other limited-edition items. He will create two "live" works at the Fan Appreciation Day on May 30 in New York and the U.S. Soccer Fan Fest in Chicago on June 16.
