Landon Donovan's 58 U.S. assists

[VIDEO PICK] Landon Donovan is not only the USA's all-time leader in goals with 57 he is also the all-time leader in assists with 58. His international career began with a goal and assist in his debut match against Mexico in 2000.

And the 58th international career assist came Feb. 1, 2014, when a nifty back heel set up Chris Wondolowski's goal against South Korea.

The irony is that Wondo is one of the players who beat out Donovan for a berth on the 2014 U.S. World Cup team.

Relive all 58 assists of Donovan's career ...

Such a great record for his long career. I still stand behind Klinsman's decision to cut him.

WOAH, NELLIE!!! Brave words herewith, Andrea, I agree with you, and LD did do some pretty neat things on the pitch. Now what, coaching? (he'd have to go through the US Soccer's coaching school, though it'd be to his advantage to use his pro experience and world player to walk through and get his A license.) TV work? he did ok during the WC, though they'll blend him in and have him work alongside Wynalda, or Keller, Moreno or that other guy, maybe even replace some ESPN "soccer announcers, Mr. Ley? but for sure, he'd be a welcome vocal sound to replace all those Brits who would bore you to death whilst announcing a match which I consider akin to describing grass growing, paint drying, or even a golf match... Becoming an MLS GM? Well, take a hint from Lalas,he went from the pitch to turning the ground (ground breaking ceremony) for the Stub Hub Center, to LAG GM but then again, maybe AEG will offer LD a spot, if MLS front office doesn't grab him first. Just the same, Senor Donovan, muchas gracias y muy buena suerte!
