David Villa is rumored to be on the verge of completing a switch to New York City FC, according to Catalan daily Sport. Villa, who was often the third striker in a forward line alsocontaining Diego Costa and Raul Garcia last season, has reportedly been offered a three-year deal with the MLS club that begins play for the first time next season.
If Villaleaves Atletico this summer then Barcelona, his former club, will miss out on the 3 million euros ($4.1 million) it would have been offered had the 32-year-old remained at Atleti for a second seasonand extended his contract.
