[CROWD COUNT] The Portland Timbers U-23s set a PDL record when they drew a crowd of 8,207 at Providence Park on Friday afternoon for their 2-0 victory over the Puget Sound Gunners.

The crowd topped the PDL's previous attendance mark of 7,853 set by the Fresno Fuego on April 29, 2011.

Other recent attendance records ...

-- On Saturday, a regular-season record crowd of 7,856 watched the NASL Carolina RailHawks beat the Tampa Bay Rowdies, 2-0, to extend their unbeaten streak at WakeMed Soccer Park to 21 matches.

-- On May 29, the NPSL's Chattanooga FC drew a crowd of 4,058 -- a Tennessee U.S. Open Cup record -- at Finley Stadium for its 5-0 loss to the NASL Atlanta Silverbacks in the third round of the Open Cup.

-- On May 23, the NPSL's Detroit City FC beat Lansing United, 1-0, in front of a club record 3,112 supporters for Le Rouge's first game under the lights at Cass Technical High School in downtown Detroit.
