England’s player have been instructed not to talk about the UK’s brief, bloody war with Argentina over the Falkland Islands following the politicized banner unfurled by Argentina’s squad ahead of its 2-0 friendly win against Slovenia on Saturday. According to the Daily Mail, England’s management has told the players not to answer questions about the islands, which are known in Argentina as the "Islas Malvinas." Britain and Argentina fought a short but bitter conflict in 1982 in which 900 people were killed after the South American country invaded the British territory.
