[U.S. OPEN CUP]The San Jose Earthquakes and Houston Dynamo both won their opening U.S. Open Cup matches on Wednesday, though the Quakes needed to recover from a 1-0 deficit to beat Sacramento Republic FC, 2-1, on goals by Khari Stephenson and Cordell Cato at San Francisco's Kezar Stadium. Honduran Alex Lopez has his first goal for the Dynamo to beat the PDL's Laredo Heat, 1-0, in a match that saw both teams finish with 10 players.
