England captain Steven Gerrard has called on Harry Redknapp to name names after the QPR boss claimed that several of his former players wanted to withdraw from England duty while he was manager of Tottenham Hotspur. In an interview with the BBC, Redknapp said, “When full internationals came around, two or three players didn’t want to go and play for England. They’d come to me 10 days before the game and say: ‘Gaffer get me out of the game. I don’t want to play in it.”

Gerrard on Monday said that those players need to be outed. "I don't know who he means. Is it five years ago? 10 years ago? We need names," he said. "If it's the case, it's disgusting." The Liverpool captain went on to defend the current England squad. "I can guarantee that is not the case here," he said. "Nobody here wants to go home. In the two years I've been here, I've seen a greater interest in playing for England, so Harry's comments come as a bit of a surprise."
