"A moment really of sheer misfortune can throw everyone into a realm of despair that you didn't know was possible. The Costa Rica game will tell me a lot about the players. It's been a very tough few days and it's hard to pick yourselves up for a game that, even if you do well in, serves no purpose.

-- England coach Roy Hodgson, whose team goes into Tuesday's game against Costa Rica with no hope of advancing, having suffered narrow losses to Italy and Uruguay. (Telegraph)

"serves no purpose"? how about an experimental formation and side full of the subs you didn't use, to get a head start on 2014? Hodgie is a twit, and his comments prove he is not fit to captain the English ship.
