[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY] Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Soccer Academy, which fell to the New York Red Bulls in last year's U-17/18 Development Academy final, held the Red Bulls to a 1-1 tie and won its group on goal difference to advance to the quarterfinals of the 2013-14 U-17/18 Development Academy playoffs.

U-17/18 Group Winners:
Group A: Chivas USA
Group B: Montreal Impact FC
Group C: Players Development Acad.
Group D: FC Dallas
Group E: Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Soccer Acad.
Group F: Bethesda-Olney
Group G: Colorado Rush
Group H: Seattle Sounders FC

New Zealand's Abdulla Al-Kalisy, who scored the Shattuck-Saint Mary’s goal, is one of six players who were on the runner-up squad that fell to the Red Bulls in overtime in last year’s finals in Houston.

In its first season in the Development Academy, Bethesda-Olney beat the Vancouver Whitecaps FC to win Group F with three wins by a margin of 15-5.

The Seattle Sounders FC won Group H and posted a 3-1 victory over Real Salt Lake AZ to give them 16 goals in three games and a perfect 3-0-0 record.

U-17/18 Quarterfinals (July 7 or 9):
Chivas USA at Bethesda-Olney
Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Soccer Acad. at Players Development Acad.
Montreal Impact FC at Seattle Sounders FC
Colorado Rush at FC Dallas
