Defending champion RSL AZ moves into final eight

[DEVELOPMENT ACADEMY] Defending champion Real Salt Lake AZ is one of five MLS academy teams to move into the quarterfinals of the U-15/16 Development Academy playoffs. The LA Galaxy and Vancouver Whitecaps FC joined Vardar as the only teams to finish with 3-0-0 records in group play in Westfield, Ind.

U-15/16 Group Winners:
Group A: San Jose Earthquakes
Group B: Strikers FC
Group C: Vancouver Whitecaps FC
Group D: LA Galaxy
Group E: Chicago Magic PSG
Group F: Real Salt Lake AZ
Group G: New York Red Bulls
Group H: Vardar

RSL AZ won Group F on goal difference over Georgia United. Chicago Magic PSG and the New York Red Bulls earned first in their groups with 2-0-1 records. The San Jose Earthquakes won their finale, 2-0, over Shattuck-Saint Mary’s Soccer Academy to maintain its Group A lead, and Strikers FC secured first place in Group B with a scoreless draw against Seattle Sounders FC to win the group with seven points.

The quarterfinals take place July 7 or 9, with venues and dates to be announced at a later date.
