The Cameroonian soccer association (FCF) on Tuesday said it would investigate allegations of game-fixing within its squad at this summer’s World Cup that were raised in a report by German daily Der Speigel. In that report, Wilson Raj Perumal, a convicted match-fixer, correctly predicted that Croatia would beat Cameroon 4-0 and that a Cameroonian player would be sent off. He added that seven members of the Indomitable Lions’ squad were part of the alleged fraud

In a statement, the FCF replied: “Recent allegations of fraud around Cameroon's 2014 FIFA World Cup three preliminary games, especially Cameroon vs. Croatia, as well of the 'existence of seven bad apples [in our national team]' do not reflect the values and principles promoted by our administration, in line with FIFA's code of conduct and the ethics of our nation. We are strongly committed to employ all means necessary to resolve this disruptive matter in the shortest delays."
