[MLS: Week 17] An 11-game MLS schedule, featuring five Fourth of July matches, kicks off Wednesday with Chicago-Toronto FC and San Jose-Chivas USA.

-- The Fire was the only team not to play last weekend and fell into last place in the overall standings (based on fewest wins) when Montreal and Chivas USA both won. Chicago and San Jose have played less games (14) than any other team except Toronto FC (12) and LA Galaxy (13).

-- On Tuesday, Chivas USA acquired Nathan Sturgis from the Colorado Rapids for Carlos Alvarez in an exchange for midfielders.
