[WORLD CUP: Off the Post] Costa Rica's passage into the second round, thanks to wins over Uruguay and Italy, have increased sales for Tico replica jerseys 20-fold and Lotto is struggling to meet the demand.

More than 50,000 jerseys were sold after the 3-1 win over Uruguay and Costa Rica’s popularity surged following the Ticos’ 1-0 win over Italy, a scoreless tie with England and the shootout win over Greece that sent them to the quarterfinals.

“We are now having trouble organizing some fast production to let everyone have this shirt that will become a memory of a historic achievement,” Lotto’s president, Andrea Tomat, told Reuters.
