Tie with RSL Reserves moves Richmond into second place

[USL PRO: Week 16] The Richmond Kickers had to settle for a 0-0 tie with the visiting Real Salt Lake Reserves but the point was good enough to regain sole possession of second place in the USL PRO standings, ahead of the LA Galaxy II and nine points behind unbeaten Orlando City.

The game's best chance went to RSL's Luke Mulholland, the former USL PRO Rookie of the Year who hit the crossbar at the start of the second half.

SATURDAY. Aaron Schoenfeld took the USL PRO scoring lead with three goals to pace the Dayton Dutch Lions to a 3-1 victory at the Charlotte Eagles. The Columbus Crew loan player now has 12 goals on the season.

The Harrisburg City Islanders pulled even with Charlotte with 16 points, two points behind the eighth-placed OKC Energy FC, thanks to a 4-1 win over the Battery. The Islanders came out firing, opening up a three-goal lead after 21 minutes on goals by Morgan Langley, Jose Barril and Jimmy McLaughlin.

FRIDAY. The Sacramento-Orange County sold-out match at Republic FC's new stadium at Cal Expo was postponed until Monday due to concerns over air quality because of a 40-acre grass fire near Bonney Field. A fireworks show at Cal Expo went ahead later in the evening as air quality improved.

In Fourth of July action, LA Galaxy II moved into a tie for second place with Richmond thanks to its 4-2 win over Arizona. Los Dos, who had been winless in five straight games, jumped on Arizona with four goals in the first half as Charlie Rugg tallied two and Bradford Jamieson IV added one and an own goal from Daniel Antunez completed the scoring.

Pittsburgh picked up its first home win of the season with a 2-0 victory over Rochester.
