[NASL: Fall Week 1] The first weekend of the NASL's fall campaign concluded with a 0-0 tie between its two Canadian teams, FC Edmonton and Ottawa, which played a man down for most of the second half after midfielder Ryan Richter was sent off after picking up a second yellow card. For the weekend action ...

-- Expansion Indy Eleven, which went the entire spring season without a win, finally won its first NASL game when it came back from a goal down to win at the Carolina RailHawks, 2-1, to open the fall season. Indy Eleven scored its two goals up a man after a red card to Austen King in the 57th minute. U.S. U-20 Ben Spencer tied the match for Indy in the 65th minute, and substitute Don Smart was the hero with the winner in the 87th minute. Carolina's Enzo Martinez had scored the first goal of the match in the 24th minute.

-- Two first-half goals by Colombian Rafael Castillo helped lift the San Antonio Scorpions to a 3-1 win over the New York Cosmos at Hofstra's Shuart Stadium. The three goals the Cosmos conceded matched the amount of goals they conceded in the entire spring season, while San Antonio won its fifth straight road match in NASL play.

-- Georgi Hristov's stoppage-time header lifted the Tampa Bay Rowdies past the Atlanta Silverbacks,  3-2, completing a comeback from 2-0 down at Al Lang Stadium. Goals by Junior Burgos from about 30 yards out and Deon McCaulay put Atlanta ahead 2-0 at the half before the Rowdies pulled even on goals by Casey Townsend and Hristov.

-- Goals from Daniel Mendes, Christian Ramirez and Miguel Ibarra gave the spring champion Spring champions Minnesota United FC all three points with a 3-0 win over the Fort Lauderdale Strikers at Lockhart Stadium.
