[MLS TRANSACTIONS] Sporting Kansas City moved to bolster its midfield after the exit of young Spaniard Oriol Rosell to Sporting Lisbon by signing a pair of midfielders, Honduran World Cup midfielder Jorge Claros and Swiss midfielder Martin Steuble, who recently debuted for the Philippines.

"We are always looking for players to enhance our roster," Sporting KC Manager Peter Vermes said. "Not only is the quality of Jorge and Martin high, but obviously with the injuries and things we have dealt with this season adding them will be a great benefit for the second half of the season."

Claros should be available for action in Saturday's ESPN2 match against the LA Galaxy, while Steuble will join the squad later.

Claros' three appearances at the World Cup give him 53 for Honduras. The 28-year-old midfielder also appeared in eight matches during Los Catrachos' successful World Cup qualifying campaign. He joins Sporting KC from Motagua in Honduras. It will be his second stint abroad. He one and half years with Hibernian in Scotland.

The 26-year-old Steuble, who was acquired after having at tryout at Sporting KC, has played seven years of professional soccer in Switzerland, most recently with FC Wil. He also played for Lausanne, making five appearances in the Europa League. Steuble debuted for the Philippines national team under new head coach Thomas Dooley in March and has made nine international appearances.
