"[I] have transformed the Dutch school from 4-3-3 to 3-5-2 and, depending on the opponent, it can be 5-3-2 also. All the players here at Manchester United are used to playing 4-3-3 but I can change like I did with the Dutch team against Mexico [in the World Cup round of 16] to 4-3-3. I only have to change one position and we play 4-3-3."

AJAX have used 3-4-3 with a diamond, the dutch in the last World Cup used a 3-4-3 diamond successfully, and Cruyff would use a combination of 3-4-3 and 4-2-3-1 diamond in 1974 and 1978.
