Boswell, Franklin and Edu added to MLS all-stars

[PORTLAND DAILY] MLS All-Star head coach Caleb Porter called in D.C. United defenders Bobby Boswell and Sean Franklin and Philadelphia Union midfielder Maurice Edu as replacements for Chad Marshall, Robbie Keane and Omar Gonzalez for Wednesday's 2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Game against Bayern Munich.

Marshall will miss the game due to injuries suffered in a recent car accident, while Keane and Gonzalez have a game on Friday against the San Jose Earthquakes.

2014 AT&T MLS All-Star Roster:
Goalkeeper: Bill Hamid (D.C. United), Nick Rimando (Real Salt Lake)
Defenders: Matt Besler (Sporting Kansas City), Bobby Boswell (D.C. United), Aurelien Collin (Sporting KC), Sean Franklin (D.C. United), Michael Parkhurst (Columbus Crew), DeAndre Yedlin (Seattle Sounders).

Noon to 9 p.m. at Pioneer Courthouse Square
A free interactive soccer-themed community event will be held daily at Pioneer Courthouse Square.

TAFC Futsal Tournament
Rose City Futsal
The Timbers' supporters group hold their first futsal tournament as a fundraiser for their CPR training initiative. The tournament features 32 adult teams and there will be  family-friendly activities for the kids as well as meals coming from the Rose City Futsal barbecue.

Grilled Cheese Throwdown
3 p.m. at Waterfront Park
The food cart scene is big in Portland and five carts and trucks will square off to see who makes the best grilled cheese sandwich. Activities at the Waterfront will include an MLS concert by The Flaming Lips.

Bayern Munich Meet and Greet
3:30 p.m. at Prost! Portland
To show off Bavaria, Bayern Munich and Munich brewer Paulaner will be holding a meet and greet with Claudio Pizarro and Rafinha at German pub Prost! Portland.

Portland Thorns-Houston Dash.
7 p.m. at Providence Park (ESPN2/WatchESPN, 10 p.m. ET)
The defending champion Thorns could break their NWSL attendance record as upwards of 20,000 fans are expected for their match against the expansion Houston Dash. The record: 16,479 for their opening game in 2013.
