[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE]Italian Marco Di Vaio scored in the 21st minute as the 10-man Montreal Impact beat FAS of El Salvador, 1-0, in its opening game of the 2014-15 Concacaf Champions League.

The Impact held on despite playing the final 28 minutes a man down after defender Hassoun Camara was red carded. Montreal came into the game with a six-game losing streak, all in MLS action.

Tuesday night's shocker took place in Mexico City, where defending champion Cruz Azul had to settle for a 1-1 tie with Alajuelense.

I'm not sure I would call Alajuelense getting a result in Mexico all that much of a shocker. They seem to have been able to do that fairly regularly in recent times.
