[AMERICANS ABROAD] Sonny Guadarrama scored in his second game for Atlante in its 3-2 loss at home to UNAM in the Copa MX, Mexico's midweek cup competition for teams in the top two flights.

The 27-year-old Texan returned to Atlante this summer after spending last season on loan to Necaxa and most of the year before that at Merida, both of the Torneo Ascenso. Atlante was relegated to the Torneo Ascenso, the second flight of the Mexican soccer, this season.

He originally moved to Mexico from Campbell University in 2006 and started out at Santos and then Morelia.
