[JURISPRUDENCE] The attorney for U.S. women's national goalkeeper Hope Solo, who is accused of assaulting her sister and 17-year-old nephew in June, is seeking to get the misdemeanor assault charges against her dismissed.
Solo, who pleaded not guilty to two counts of fourth-degree domestic violence,
appeared in court in Kirkland, Washington, on Monday. The presiding judge set the next court date for Nov. 4.
Solo plays for the NWSL regular-season champion Seattle Reign. She is
expected to represent the USA in 2015 Women's World Cup qualifying, which will take place in October at four U.S. venues.
Solo was arrested after police received the report of a disturbance.
