[MLS TRANSACTIONS] The breakup of the "Bash Brothers" is now official as the San Jose Earthquakes sent forward Alan Gordon to the LA Galaxy in exchange for allocation money. This will be his second stint with the Galaxy. Gordon, originally drafted by the Galaxy in the 2004 MLS SuperDraft, scored 16 goals and added 12 assists in over 80 appearances during six seasons (2005-10).

Gordon and Steven Lenhart teamed up with Chris Wondolowski to lead the Quakes to the 2012 Supporters' Shield. Gordon had a career-high 13 goals and seven assists in 2012. Gordon made his first appearance for the U.S. national team later that year, providing Eddie Johnson with the game-winning assist in stoppage time to earn a 2-1 victory at Antigua & Barbuda.

Gordon was scoreless in 15 appearances in 2014. Lenhart, who has been injured, has one goal in 10 games.

“Alan is a proven MLS player who adds another scoring threat to our roster going forward,” said LA Galaxy head coach and general manager Bruce Arena. “We are pleased to welcome him back as a member of the Galaxy.”

Drafted fourth overall in the 2004 SuperDraft, Gordon spent a majority of the year with the Portland Timbers, where he earned 2004 A-League Rookie of the Year honors after helping his team capture an A-League title while leading the league with 17 goals.

Prior to his time in San Jose, Gordon had stints with Chivas USA and Toronto FC.

-- Real Salt Lake traded defender Kwame Watson-Siriboe to New York City Football Club in exchange for New York’s 2016 MLS SuperDraft fourth-round pick. The UConn product spend two years with RSL, playing 19 league games, 17 of which were starts.
