[NWSL: Week 19]The Chicago Red Stars are one win away of clinching their first berth in the NWSL playoffs after securing a 2-0 victory over visiting Boston Breakers in front of 1,311 fans on Wednesday night. Meanwhile, Afghani-Dane forward Nadia Nadim scored in the 89th minute to give Sky Blue FC a 3-2 win over Western New York that kept its playoff hopes alive and eliminated the Flash.

The Chicago goals were scored by Alyssa Mautz on a pass from Julie Johnston in the 30th minute and Melissa Tancredifrom Taryn Hemmings in the 71st minute. The Red Stars will make the playoffs with a win in their final regular-season finale at home on Saturday against the Flash.

“It’s a credit to the players for their ability to push through at this time of year,“ said Red Stars coach Rory Dames.

Nadim had two goals and an assist on Kelley O'Hara's goal to give her seven goals and three assists in six games for Sky Blue FC.

If Sky Blue FC wins at Washington and Portland doesn't beat first-place Seattle, the New Jersey club will go into its makeup game with Houston postponed from July 2 with a chance to make the playoffs. A win over the Dash next Wednesday would send Sky Blue FC to the playoffs for the second year in a row.
