Report: Cameron to Leave Stoke

USA defender Geoff Cameron was conspicuous by his absence from the Stoke City squad that lost 1-0 at home to Aston Villa on Saturday, and according to Goal.com, the Texan has asked to be transferred. Cameron has spent two seasons as a starter for the Potters, and while the 29-year-old has not handed in a formal transfer request, sources tell Goal USA that Cameron is a good bet to leave the Premier League club in the next few days. The sources claim that Cameron’s desire to leave stems from being deployed by Stoke as a right-back rather than a central defender or defensive midfielder, his preferred positions.
