Real Madrid coach Carlo Ancelottion Thursday confirmed that Cristiano Ronaldo is fit enough to start Friday’s Spanish Super Cup second-leg against Atletico Madrid at the Vicente Calderon. The Portuguese winger was substituted at halftime as a precaution during Real’s 1-1 draw in Tuesday’s first-leg at the Santiago Bernabeu, with several reports claiming at the time that the two-time Ballon d’Or winner had suffered a recurrence of the knee injury that plagued him toward the end of last season.

During the pre-game press conference, Ancelotti was also asked about the uncertain future of winger Angel Di Maria and defensive midfielder Sami Khedira, with the Italian admitting that the former had asked to leave: "Di Maria asked to leave and has rejected an offer from the club,” he said. “The player himself has to solve this situation. If he doesn't find a solution to his future, he will continue working with us, no problem." According to ESPN, Real is willing to part with Di Maria for 62 million pounds ($102.8 million), with Manchester United the frontrunner to land his signature.

As for Khedira, Ancelotti said that the Germany international had also turned down the club’s offer of a new contract, although he has not said that he wants to leave -- yet. Various reports have linked Khedira with moves to either Bayern Munich or Arsenal before the transfer window closes in 10 days.
