[CONCACAF CHAMPIONS LEAGUE] The New York Red Bulls opened their Concacaf Champions League campaign with a 2-0 win over FAS, eliminating the Salvadoran club. The win gives MLS clubs five wins and a tie. No other MLS club is in action for the rest of Week 3.

Recently acquired Frenchman Saer Sene and Lloyd Sam scored for the Red Bulls. Sam was one of only four starters who started in the Red Bulls' 4-2 win over the Montreal Impact in MLS on Saturday.

The two Eastern Conference rivals are also grouped in Group 3. They meet Sept. 17 in Montreal and Oct. 22 in New Jersey.
