[AMERICANS ABOARD] Monterrey striker Alonso Hernandez, a late addition to the 2013 U.S. U-20 World Cup team and a member of the current under-23 team, scored his first professional with the late winner in Los Rayados' 2-1 win over San Luis in Mexico's Copa MX.

The 20-year-old Hernandez scored in the 87th minute to give Monterrey the win and nine points, good enough for first place in Group 2.

He grew up in El Paso, Texas, and moved across the border to Indios of Juarez and then Monterrey, where he debuted with the first team in April 2013.

The first American to start and win in the midweek Copa MX was Juan Pablo Ocegueda, Hernandez's U-20 and U-23 teammate, in Alebrijes de Oaxaca's 2-0 win over Chiapas.
