Eagles-Hounds match has huge playoff implications

[USL PRO: Week 24] Four teams are secure with playoff berths and the home-field advantage in the quarterfinals -- defending champion Orlando City, Sacramento, Richmond and LA Galaxy II -- but just six points separate the next eight teams fighting for the final playoff berths with just 10 days left in the regular season.

On a Labor Day weekend with eight games, Friday's Charlotte-Pittsburgh game shapes up as a must-win match for both teams, who are bunched up right below playoff tier.

The Eagles are coming off back-to-back wins over Rochester and Orlando City that push them back into the race. Charlotte's Drew Yates is tied for first in USL PRO with Sacramento's Rodrigo Lopez with eight assists.

Pittsburgh is coming off a 3-1 win against FC Dallas Reserves on goals from Rob Vincent, Kevin Kerr and Michael Green.
