[NASL: Fall Week 8] The San Antonio Scorpions will look to increase their lead over the rest of the NASL pack in the fall championship when they visit the Ft. Lauderdale Strikers in a rare Friday night match. The New York Cosmos signed forward Danny Mwanga, a finalist for the 2010 MLS Rookie of the Year award, on loan from the Colorado Rapids.

The Scorpions have a one-point lead over Minnesota in the fall standings but they have a 14-point lead over the fourth-place team in the combined standings.

The Strikers are in fifth place in the combined standings, a single point from the last qualifying berth into four-team playoffs.

"Fort Lauderdale can be a challenging side to predict and we're on a little shorter rest than normal this week," said Scorpions coach Alen Marcina. "As the season continues and the Championship race intensifies, we're finding our rhythm, refining our style and we'll look to impose our will on the match this Friday to get a positive result."
