Conference leaders D.C. United and Vancouver both won to remain 1-2 in the race for the MLS Supporters’ Shield, though they did so in completely different manners. D.C. United was outshot 25-1 butstill came out on top at Montreal, becoming the first team in MLS history to win with only one shot when Chris Rolfe‘s goal stood up for a 1-0 win. Vancouver also won its third gamein a row with an easy 4-0 win over Real Salt Lake, which fielded a second team in between Concacaf Champions League and Open Cup matches.
