Marseille is angry after coach Marcelo Bielsa’s shock resignation on Saturday following the Ligue 1 team’s 1-0 loss at home to Caen. “Marseille possess a sufficiently richhistory to refuse to surrender to the rule of one man,” the club said in a statement, adding that it wouldn’t be “held prisoner by a man who places his personal interests high above those of theclub.” According to the AFP, Bielsa blamed last-minute changes to his contract for the decision. Meanwhile, Marseille owner Margarita Louis-Dreyfus assured fans management would “takeall necessary measures in the coming days to enable Marseille to enjoy a season to the height of its expectations.”
