Manchester City and Barcelona booked spots in the Champions League knockout stage, joining 10 other teams in the second round. City drew 1-1, at Fabian Johnson‘s Borussia Moenchengladbach in amatch that saw both teams have a player sent off. Barca won at Celtic, 2-0, on a pair of Lionel Messi goals.

Other teams already through to the second round: Borussia Dortmund,Real Madrid, Juventus, Leicester City, Monaco, Arsenal, Paris St. Germain, Atletico Madrid, Bayern Munich and Bayer Leverkusen.

Still alive for the other spots are: Group B — Napoli,Benfica and Besiktas; Group G — Porto and FC Copenhagen; Group H — Sevilla and Lyon.
