It turns out the Glazers, the American family that owns the NFL's Tampa Buccaneers and the EPL's Manchester United, may need more than just bodyguards after supporters tried to confront them at a Manchester hotel on Sunday. Riot police were called to the scene five hours before United's match against Fulham to disperse what officials understand to be a pre-planned but ultimately unsuccessful attack on the family's members by a group of 30-plus angry supporters. The hotel's guests had to be evacuated after police found the hoard trying to force the family out of a locked hotel room. The Glazers were not said to be there at the time. The Guardian report says that Manchester United was aware of what happened but has yet to make any public comment. "The hostility is as deep as it's ever been," the report said, between the club's fans and its owners. Things are so bad the Glazers travel in cars with blacked-out windows.
