Bayern Munich warned Manchester United it will be reported to FIFA unless it end its pursuit of Canadian-born England international Owen Hargreaves, who only just signed a contract extension that would keep him at the German club until 2010. "A club may only contact a player when the club holding his contract agrees to it," an angry Karl-Heinz Rummeniggethe club's chairmantold German newspaper tz. It would appear, however, Hargreaves desperately wants to leave. Said Bayern GM Uli Hoeness: "Hargreaves is well advised to keep quiet. Otherwise, I will get very angry and that will not be good for him. I can't understand that after two discussions he is still forcing the issue." United is expected to launch a $32 million bid for the player, who was most recently dropped for Bayern's match against Bochum this Sunday. But Hoeness added: "He won't be released under any circumstances. He needs to accept the decisions of those above him and show some respect." Manchester United manager Sir Alex Ferguson admitted Bayern is resisting United's attempts to bring the England player to Old Trafford. "We are trying hard," he said, "but Bayern are proving very stubborn and resistant, which I can understand." Hargreaves has won four German titles and Champions League crown since joining Bayern Munich in 1999. Read the original story...
