Carlos Tevez, one of Argentina's most coveted young players, declared his intention to leave for Europe after handing in a transfer request to Corinthians coach Emerson Leao. Tevez demanded to be let go after the new coach stripped him of the captain's armband for not being able to speak Portuguese. The Corinthians striker is valued at around $48 million and has been a target of several big clubs in the past, including Manchester United. United, AC Milan, and Bayern Munich are all interested in securing the striker's signature. "This may have been my last game in the Corinthians shirt," Tevez said. "I would like to stay but I have to think about what is better for me and my family." In the past, Tevez has criticized the city of Sao Paolo and Brazil in general for being unsafe. "Carlos wants to go to Europe," his agent confirmed. Sir Alex Ferguson may hold the upper hand in the race to sign the World Cup star, as Tevez has admitted to being a Manchester United supporter.
