As expected, AC Milan President Adriano Galliani confirmed the club's interest in Real Madrid striker Ronaldo almost immediately following the 2-1 victory that saw the Rossoneri through through to the Champions League group stages last night. "Ronaldo is available and now it's a matter between Milan and Real Madrid," Galliani said. "We will be pleased if a deal can be completed, but if that were not the case then we will be happy with the players we have." An unhappy Ramon Calderon, Real Madrid's president, confirmed that negotiations had begun between the clubs regarding the 30-year old Brazilian striker. "I don't think that is right, but we are still prepared to receive representatives from any friendly club," he said, adding, "if Ronaldo wants to leave, we'll have to look for a solution. We don't want money, we want something else," by which he is referring to Kaka, a player Milan has repeatedly proclaimed to be off-limits to any potential suitors. The 24-year old attacking midfielder is one of Milan's most important players, especially after the departure of Andriy Shevchenko. Ronaldo, meanwhile, has kept quiet about the transfer speculation; he is still recovering from knee surgery he underwent following the World Cup. Read the original story...
