Manchester United reported record revenues of $552 million and record net profits of $222 million for the fiscal year ending last June, and the driving force behind the growth is its increased commercial revenue, up 29.7 percent in sponsorship, merchandising and product sales.

The average U.S. household rating of 1.4 for Tuesday night's USA-Mexico match on ESPN matched the previous record for a U.S. qualifier set when the USA played Mexico at Mexico City's Estadio Azteca on March 26, 2013.
Dallas stadium becomes third Toyota soccer stadium

FC Dallas has reached a long-term agreement with Toyota to name its stadium Toyota Stadium. In addition, its soccer complex with 17 professional-grade soccer fields adjacent to the stadium located in Frisco, Texas, will be named Toyota Soccer Center.
Report: NYCFC to hire ex-Rutgers AD as business chief

New York City Football Club, which will begin play in MLS in 2015, will announce the hiring of former Rutgers athletic director Tim Pernettias its chief business officer, reported Bloomberg, based on information provided by a person with direct knowledge of the hiring.
NBC's EPL weekend coverage dominates

The second week of the NBC Sports Group's coverage of the English Premier League continued to produce strong viewership figures with four live EPL games and three weekend studio shows ranking among the top 10 English-language soccer broadcasts in terms of average viewers for the week of Aug. 19-25.
