[ITALY] For weeks now, reports out of Italy have circulated that "the Special One," Jose Mourinho, was poised to take over as coach of three-time Italian champion Inter Milan, and speculation intensified following the confirmation that Coach Roberto Mancini had been sacked on Thursday.

Mancini's future looked in doubt after Inter's loss to Liverpool in the Champions League in March. He said he wanted to quit at the end of the season only to change his mind the next day.

Inter had to wait until the last day of the season to clinch the Scudetto after a 11-point lead over Roma fell to one point.

Mancini is considered a possible candidate for the vacant Chelsea job following Avram Grant's firing last Saturday.
