Beating Toronto FC, 2-1, on Monday night in a game Real Salt Lake coach Jason Kreis dubbed the biggest game of the season, gave RSL its first winning record in franchise history, which began in 2005. Its 7-6-6 record also moved Real Salt Lake four points clear of second-place Houston (two games in hand) and Los Angeles (one game in hand) in the Western Conference.
Robbie Findley scored
the winner in the 87th minute, three minutes after Toronto's Amado Guevara had tied the game up with a free kick. Findley's strike made up for hitting the post on a first-half sitter.
give away a goal late in the game and to react the way they did makes me incredibly proud ... to not only be leading this group but to feel like I'm part of this group," said Kreis.
also kept Salt Lake's undefeated at home this season, with six wins and five ties.
