After spending four up-and-down years with Reading in England, 25-year-old U.S. midfielder Bobby Convey has returned to MLS, where at 16 he was once the youngest player the league had ever signed.
Released from his Reading contract after injuries plagued his last two seasons with the second division club, Convey inked a two-year deal with the San Jose Earthquakes.
"It was just the best timing," said Convey, who will be looking to return to the form and fitness showed in 2006 as part of Reading's second division-winning season that promoted
it to the EPL, and the U.S. World Cup team. "As long as I do well and play well, there's plenty of time to go back to Europe."
