According to goal.com, the L.A. Galaxy stated Thursday that marquee midfielder and marketing commodity David Beckham is "due to return from AC Milan as originally planned, despite rampant transfer speculation."
While Beckham has said over in over in the media that he prefers to stay playing in Italy in order to increase his chances of
representing England in the 2010 FIFA World Cup, the LA Galaxy and parent company AEG have stood firm in their desire to keep Beckham in MLS unless a significant compensatory financial deal could
be worked out.
With no word of any improved offer on the table after meetings with AC Milan officials that supposedly took place this week, Goal.com's Andrea Canales confirmed with a source from the Galaxy Communications department that "he plays on the 8th," referring to AC Milan's Serie A encounter with Atalanta, and "he's due to
head back after that game."
