Former England star Paul Gascoigne has been charged with drunk driving in the latest alcohol-related problem to hit the troubled England football legend. The arrest followed anincident at a restaurant in Leeming Bar, northern England. North Yorkshire Police said Gascoigne was charged with drunk-driving, driving without insurance and driving without a licence.

Gascoigne has struggled with alcoholism and depression since retiring from the game, and has undergone treatment for bulimia and obsessive compulsive disorder. He was detained three times under theMental Health Act in 2008.
