FIFA president Sepp Blatter‘s is developing quite a reputation for putting his foot in his mouth. Blatter’s latest remark came in response to the controversysurrounding John Terry, stripped of his England captaincy following  revelations he had an affair with teammate WayneBridge‘s former partner.

“Listen, this is a special approach in Anglo-Saxon countries,” he said, speaking on the eve of the Winter Olympics. “If this had happenedin, let’s say, Latin countries, then I think he would have been applauded.”

Blatter’s stereotype missed the point of the Terry controversy. It wasn’t the fact that the Englandcaptain had an affair but that it took place behind the back of an England teammate and close friend.
