While it remains to be seen whether Italian Fabio Capello become a World Cup champion coach, he’s surely a contender for World Cup micro-manager. The Englandhas implemented a strict dress code, deciding what his players will wear each day.

“You are wearing this — you are a team,” is how goalkeeper RobertGreen described the philosophy. “The way that it is put across is so clear and well reasoned. It makes sense to do that. It can be about the small details. Wearing the same kit, you go, ‘OKthat’s the level of professionalism that is expected.’”

When Capello took the England job, he laid down a strict code of conduct he expected from his players. Now that they’ve bought intohis approach, he’s started to relax a bit. Dress is an exception. He remains as strict as ever, choosing the colors of the casual wear.
