Jean-Claude Dassier, president of Marseille, says the French club plans on taking unspecified legal action against Manchester City midfielder Nigel De Jong, who broke the leg of Newcastle winger Hatem Ben Arfa.

Ben Arfa is on loan from Marseille, whorisks losing out if Newcastle doesn’t exercise its option to buy Ben Arfa as a result of the broken leg that will keep him out of action for at least six months.

“You must try and rid thefields of Europe of this type of individual,” Dassier said of de Jong on French television.

  1. De Jong is way too aggressive. Remember the World Cup tune-up between The Netherlands and the USA? De Jong + Stuart Holden = Holden leaves match with a broken leg! I love the Dutch, but De Jong has got to be bridled.
