[BOSTON COLLEGE-WEST VIRGINIA WOMEN] West Virginia’s 14-game winning streak — the second longest in the country — came to a crashing halt as Boston Collegepounded the Mountaineers, 4-0, Friday to move into the quarterfinals of the NCAA Women’s Tournament for the second year in a row.

Brooke Knowltonscored a goal in each half to lead the Eagles.

BC dominated the first half, holding a 9-3 edge in shots over the Mountaineers, and got goals from Knowlton and Julia Bouchelle, both off assists fromKristen Mewis.

Knowlton scored her second goal of the game in the 56th minute, and the Eagles closed out the scoring with six minutes remaining asVictoria DiMartino scored her 10th goal of the season.

The Eagles will play in the Elite Eight game at home for the first time against the winnerof Saturday’s game between UC Irvine and Washington.
